Vietnam has truly seen a rapid increase in coworking spaces popping up all across the country, due to an energetic startup scene and fast rate of urbanisation. Amid sustained economic growth, progressive small-business policies, and an affordable cost of living, Vietnam has become a coworking haven. Specifically Ho Chi Minh City’s coworking market is thriving, catering to a remarkable young workforce with a focus on tech and community across the board. In Vietnam coworking has become synonymous with culture, flexibility and growth and not just a business solution to cut costs. Between 2017 and 2018, the office area leased by coworking operators in Vietnam increased by 233 per cent. US operator WeWork was quick to jump on this coworking wave with the addition of thousands of square metres over the last two years and many big players arriving in Vietnam to join the party. With constantly increasing demand there is still huge potential for operators to come in and meet the demand especially from Saigon’s vibrant entrepreneurial scene.
